We have a small but enthusiastic committee that keeps the club in order. One of the attractions of the club is that, whilst it is run efficiently, we aim to keep rules and regulations at a bare minimum.
Primarily we are a road running club, although some of our members also take part in both cross country, track and field events. A couple of us even like Ultras!
Weekly Training Runs
The club meets in the reception area at Uplands Community Leisure Centre for training runs on Tuesday evenings at 7.15 pm and on Sunday mornings at 9.00 am. Distances vary according to ability and fitness and we always ensure that runners are accompanied by colleagues – particularly during the dark winter months.
The club provides a free hi viz reflective training top. During the winter dark nights do, please, bring a hand torch or a head torch for safety.
For those at home during the daytime we also have two morning daytime runs:
Mondays at 09:45 for a run on part of Bewl Water: starting and finishing at Dunster’s Mill, Ticehurst (Contact club Chairman Albert for details of this run – see contacts page.)
Wednesday mornings meeting at the reception to the Uplands Sports Centre, Wadhurst
You are very welcome to run with us at any of our runs. New members are very welcome. Come along and run with us to see if the Waddies are for you.
The costs for 12 months membership are:
- Standard (single membership) – £20.00
- Family membership (for up to 5 members of your family) – £40.00
- Student, not in full time employment, retired or between jobs – £5.00
